why do i run?

just want to share with you guyz, my experience during my funruns.. really enjoy running... and i think, and hope, i will continue to run... until my legs told me to stop...

as i always say, running is one of the cheapest way to stay fit and healthy.... :D since you only invest on running shoes.. no need to enroll for a gym, or any other activity...

that's what i thought!!! for me to be able to run on a regular basis, i have to sign up for a race... para naman may motivation.... kasi if not, knowing me... tatamarin talaga..
so, if you woud sign up for a race, every week.. it would appear, it is equivalent to 1 month enrollment to fitness first.. lolz... owel, atleast i got to sign up atleast once or twice a month.. still cheaper... :D

The Green Miles Run - 20100321

it all started as peer pressure... 20101319. last day for Green Miles Fun Run registration at Smart Telecom Office. as in like the event is 2 days from our registration date. what inspired me to join the event was, Piolo is running - 15k category. since it's my first time, we signed up for 5k, 'sige na, ok lang kahit di ko kasabay si Piolo, atleast kasama ko sya sa event.'

official time was:

3197 June Maricris Petogo 0:45:14

but we were late so we joined the 3k gunstart (which is 10 mins after 5k gunstart) so my time should be 0:35:14 ( wala na lang magrereklamo... :D )

Mizuno Infinity Run - 20100411

I was quite 'bitin' on my 5k run so next event, signed up for 10k, the Mizuno Infinity Run... bahala na si batman kung pano kami tatakbo.. we had our training at BHS and AT. just to build up endurance... and... endurance... what's exciting here is the route includes kalayaan flyover.. wheee.. pagod, hingal, init... but it's all worth it.. but news was, no singlet was given, just a finisher shirt... since we're so like 'bagal', we were not able to get a shirt of my size.. amf... got the M size shirt, which is quite big...

and official time was:

2247 June Maricris Petogo 33 F 1:21:57

difference was, that was the official time for all categories, starting from 15k category. 'ope 'twas not bad for a first time 10k runner/jogger.. :D

PSN Bigay Todo sa Pagtakbo Fun Run - 20100515

third running event I joined... more trainings done, more practice... again, to build endurance... nakakahiya naman kasi if i sign up for 10k then i will walk most of the time... the rounte is not quite challenging, 2 loops around MOA... but, what's good bout this run was i was able to get my best PR here (or so i thought)...

San Mig Bay Run - 20100523

fourth race event that i joined... just want to make sure atleast once a month, i would be able to sign up for an event. just a motivation so i won't stop practicing / training. what's exciting here was, no loops for route at MOA... was able to run from MOA to star city, CCP, phil navy, up to quirino... bad thing was, i was 2 minutes beyond my PR.. :D

well, i guess not bad still... but want to atleast be sub-60.... or better yet, sub-Piolo...

so far the best singlet for me... love the color combination...

and oh, one of the best part also was there are lots of celebrities... and freebies too.. para ka lang nag grocery... ;)

ACE Eco-Friendly Run - 20100627

Recently signed up for ACE Eco-Friendly but not Runner friendly run.. :D

so disappointed with this event. event was not organized. we registered about 3 weeks earlier.. thanks to takbo.ph, we were reminded to get barcode for our racebibs.. we have to go back sa ACE para sa barcode ng race bib namin.. though pwede rin naman on the day of the race... 2ndly, short sa distance... takbo.ph-ers measured 8.4k for 10k category. though when i check google pedometer, 'twas 9.4km. lastly, at the finish line, the line is ssooooo long. as in like 2 mins before i reach the finish line/barcode collector. sayang naman yun time. so no expectation for PR.. :( from the line dun sa pagbigay ng barcode.. dretso pila na rin sa loot bag.. kaya naiipon ang mga tao...

but, most important here was, i did enjoy running... and i guess.. will always will....

one thing i like bout this event was, the white wall... atleast i gotta write there 'JUNEPETS was here!'

no official time yet, but am not expecting anything. based from their timer, i reached the finish line (before ako pumila) at 0:59 minutes... so i really wouldn't know my official time... :(

Rexona Run 2010 - 20100801

Best Run Ever... - so far..

Registration fee is really worth it.. from singlet, to d-tag, to loot bags..

marshalls all over the place... lots of SM Bonus water and Powerade... ambulance scattered all over the route... gettin' ready in case someone needs help... more than enough KM markings...

what more can i say.. it's really worth it.. :D

not so happy with my PR though... pero ok na rin.. bawi na lang next time..

how often can you see a couple celebrating their birthday together... as in like literally growing old together...

on our first birthday together, year 2005, we went to MOA... we first inquired at Shrine Of Jesus for our church wedding. we then went to MOA afterwards.. watched Nascar and Mt Everest Documentary at IMAX..

year 2006, hmmmm.. where were we? i guess we just stayed at home.. since at this time, we were already saving four our dream church wedding...

year 2007, we had our birthday celebration at Tagaytay. Stayed overnight at Nurture Spa and pamper to the max..

and heard mass at Caleruega Church..

year 2008, hmmmm.. i guess we just had dinner somewhere... :D

year 2009, we were at Legend Villas and stayed overnight... this was my surprise for hubby... i just told him i have to meet a friend there... had relaxing day at the suite.. with jacuzzi.. and oh, i think there was a typhoon at that time.. so we were not able to enjoy the swimming pool..

year 2010... still dunno.. no plans yet... what i know is, growing old with him.. for 10 years.. is the best time of my life... he will always be my love, my life...
